Real Doctor Reacts to UNTOLD STORIES OF THE ER!

  • に公開 2019/09/22
  • Welcome back to another Doctor Reacts Series Episode! I listened to you in the poll I created last week and watched the popular series Untold Stories of the ER. This was a much different doctor reacts video from medical drama review because its told by actual doctors and there's MUCH fewer inaccuracies or discrepancies to point out. I wanted to watch the first episode of season one but I couldn't find it streaming anywhere, so I watched the first episode of season 5.
Please comment down below if you want more of this show or comment which show you want next! Also, turn on the notification bell to "ALL" alerts so that you can be notified when I drop the good stuff =]

Just a question out of clarification, wouldn't fluids lower pressure if the blood pressure is dropping? like dilution of what the blood carries? or is it because there is more fluid its going to create more pressure in the circulatory?

Though thoractomy is pretty rarely performed it is an indicated ED procedure.
And especially after patient has a witnessed loss of pulse, so it's more accurate than you're making it out to be. Ask any ED doc.

If only I could use the allergy and epipen bits in my research paper about epipen prices rising. And as someone who requires an epipen, to anyone else who needs one, PLEASE CARRY IT AROUND WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES! I've had friends in the past almost DIE bc they didn't have their epipens on them.

On that one episode, they kept getting him stabilized and everytime a new family member came he went back down. Come to find it it was because everyone was dealing with nuts right before they came. So just FYI they did stabilize him first.

Can you show us exactly how deep to do compression on a real person? I know two inches, but the dummies are different from real humans! An automated version, a friend who is willing?? 😂 but seriously!! I am CPR BLS certified and I wanna know what’s too deep and what’s not deep enough.

so i was telling my grandfather (who's a retired obgyn) about this show called 'I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant' and after describing some of the things that went down in some of the episodes, he started justifying how those things aren't possible/wouldn't happen. i'm so confused because it says that everything that happens on that show are true stories, but if my doctor grandpa is denying it what do i believe

you should check it out or do a react vid on it or something

About chest compressions: isn't it dangerous to do them if the heart is working correctly even though the person is unconscious?? Unconsciousness doesn't always mean: "the heart is malfunctioning", right?

The funniest Untold Stories of the ER episode story I heard was this fellow and his first time date came into the ER. He had gone into anaphylaxis shock. The doctors got him stable and everything was fine. Then while the two were chatting and he was recovering, she kissed him (the date had gone well despite the issue) when all of a sudden he had gone into shock again.
Turns out, she had eaten a PB&J and had bits of peanut butter in her mouth still. And he hadn't known (until that night) that he was deathly allergic to them.

Well I was at band practice and my older sister came in my room and decided to take three and shove them up her....well......backside and had to go to the ER to have them removed. She tried to give them back but I was nice and let her have them

I have a story about my mum’s medical school friends performing a thoracotomy on the floor of a pub in London! A man had been stabbed and they had to open up his chest on the scene to save him, which they’d only learned how to do two days before. My mums friend also had to keep his finger inside this guy’s heart to stop the bleeding for about an hour before it could be stitched. The man actually survived as well, and was able to leave the hospital in six days, which is incredible! Link for the curious

i didn't learn i was allergic to penicillin - despite a mild allergy to eggs (milk and wheat too) from when i was a baby - until i was 18 and i had strep throat. the hive story is exactly what happened to me. i used to take SELDANE in junior high or so when they still made it, the doctor when i was a child treated my chronic violent bloody noses with cocaine, really crazy allergies in general and they seem to change a lot. i mostly can tell when i have an allergy to something when my back of my throat itches, my ears itch inside, around my nose, and then i carry benadryl around and chew it up. on more than a few occasions i've woken up and my lips are swollen and numb. benadryl is the easiest thing to carry around and crush up and rub on my mouth and/or chew up.

I’m deadly allergic to shellfish, to the point if there’s a lot around me I get to the point I can’t breath. My family can’t afford epi-pens. So it’s tedious for me whenever we go out. I hate how expensive they are.
