Cities and counties that limit their cooperation with federal immigration agents are sometimes called "sanctuaries," but the word doesn't actually have any legal meaning. However, because the constitution prohibits the federal government from making states enforce its laws, cities, counties, and other local jurisdictions have lots of freedom to ignore, or comply with, requests from federal agencies like ICE to detain undocumented immigrants for deportation. is a news website that helps you cut through the noise and understand what's really driving the events in the headlines. 0:27 you are safe, to vote Democrat. This honestly looks like republicans are the parents and Democrats are the children and the illegsls is a new pet that they want caus it's cute and helpless and the kid just wants to give it everything it needs while the parents think about everything else, paying for the food and medicine also having to spend that time to help the kid understand responsibility. Kid ends up playing with it a lot for a while and slowly little by little they move onto a different thing. ( Before you get triggered, I'm Hispanic who has to identify white and don't make everything about myself and I mean no offense to anyone just simply stating my opinion we can discuss about it like civilized people or just throw ad hominems at me and get nowhere the choice is yours )

Without proper documentation immigrants can never hold good (lucrative) jobs. That will force them to pursue low paying (lower than minimum wage) jobs and be stuck in poverty. This also applies to the children who want to apply to colleges. And it might be powerful agent in turning them towards illegal jobs and maybe even minor crimes. I think every resident (of every country) should have proper documents. Most people are not refugees of war but just come to the states and never leave. I am not a US citizen but there are somethings where both parties (people) should agree upon.
    - Climate change (its real and its scary)
    - Taxation (tax the businesses and the rich please, most people do not deserve the money, its money making more money not their caliber)
    - Religion (Everyone please tone it down, and leave it out of schools and law making and yes tax the churches, temples etc)
    - Immigration (Enforce tough laws please, yes they are people but unless something is done US will soon be full of poor illegal immigrants)
    - Guns (Tone it down please, there are too many out there. Register yourself if you carry)
    - Political Correctness (Not necessary, everyone should speak their minds. This is a major reason why so many people are annoyed)
    - Women's rights (we do need to make women feel more empowered. I know some of you won't believe me but empowering women will empower the nation. There might be some some false cases but there are many more cases where women who have been assaulted do not get voice and are scared to come out.)

Woo woo woo it all gone wrong when you said that thing about immigrants not wanting to report crime. I’m a Chinese immigrant to the uk and if some other ILLEGAL Chinese immigrant gets sent home, that doesn’t stop me from reporting to the police, because i am under the law. Since the illegal immigrant broke the law in the first place, it’s his/her fault that their vulnerable, because he/she is the one to break the law first.

Sanctuary Cities Suck. Just like Vox.

  • Lets get to 5000 subscribers without a video!

There is no proof that not being a sanctuary city will stop the illegal population from interacting with police. Police don't check in with the ICE database every time someone reports a crime. Sanctuary cities are just here because officials want votes. They are not here to increase interaction with police.

If you don't punish them, then how will you stop them from breaking the law and entering the country illegally? It causes worse crime if you don't do something about it. They are contributing to drug problems and creating a burden on the tax system.
Drug smuggling, and the endless battle to stop it
U.S. Appetite for Mexico’s Drugs Fuels Illegal Immigration
According to GAO, in FY 2009 295,959 SCAAP criminal aliens, of whom approximately 227,600 are illegal aliens, were incarcerated in state jails and prisons. This is a 40 percent and 25 percent increase, respectively, in criminal-alien incarcerations in state jails and prisons since FY 2003.
FAIR found that while illegal immigrants pay billions of dollars in taxes every year, they ultimately cost taxpayers more than seven times what they contribute. The study found that illegal immigrants pay almost $19 billion annually in combined federal, state and local taxes. This estimate is actually considerably higher than what many studies before this have suggested. However, the amount of taxes illegal immigrants pay is dwarfed by the considerable costs that they impose on American taxpayers: nearly $135 billion annually, creating a net deficit of $116 billion. The majority of the costs to taxpayers, $89 billion (66 percent), are borne at the local and state level. This means that American taxpayers are forced to bear the costs of the federal government’s failure to secure our borders every time they pay school taxes, local tolls, sales and excise taxes. It also means that illegal migrants get a lot of benefits that they don’t pay for.

It's really just that people employed on the state or municipality's dime have no obligation to enforce federal law. The only instances where they do is where it proves convenient or politically expedient for their bosses to tell them to. E.g. fair housing laws where the city could be reasonably implicated in federal court cases for signing off on developments in breach of the law.
In this case, if the federal government wants to enforce its immigration policy, it needs to pay people to do it. It can't expect city officials to go against the will of the people that voted them into office and do it for them.

Basically we want to let them free and deny the request, so "criminals" or law-breaker illegal immigrants can report on other criminals? Here's the thing right, if people start to do these requests, and the illegal immigrant community starts to get robbed more, they'll just move out. They'll either go back, or they'll go somewhere else and get caught. If they're here legally there's no issue with the police, but since they're here illegally they put themselves between a rock and a hard place themselves.

What I don't get is, you said it stops them from doing their job when they report them to ICE. But if they dont then they aren't doing their job. I feel for these people, I really do. But you can't just ignore that someone us breaking the law in case other people that are breaking the law are afraid of getting caught. Take this for example: a murderer gets pulled over for speeding. Same situation. This time, through fingerprints, they find out he's a murderer. You wouldn't expect them to go "hmmm... well I COULD arrest this guy. But then again, if OTHER murderers hear about it, they won't call the police if something happens". It's ridiculous. And we aren't talking about asylum seekers or legal immigrants. We're talking about ILLEGAL immigrants. By letting this happen, it's kinda like a massive middle finger to the people that have struggled for years and years to get visas to get into the country and live there. Not to mention the fact that it makes other illegal immigrants think it's ok to do that. And it's not ok. It's illegal for a reason. And I know that these are people too, but you can emigrate legally. If you can't appreciate the laws of the country you want to move to, then you shouldn't be there. And if it is urgent and you can't get the visa. Say you're living in a country in the middle of war and you need to move away, for your family's sake. I get it. It's awful. But you can be granted asylum. And if not, then clearly there's a reason. Whether it be because this person is deemed a danger, or because there are simply other people that need it more urgently, there will be a reason. So to move there anyway because you can't do it the legit way is just wrong. I can't always afford the basics to live off of. But I don't steal from the local supermarket. I get by the legal way. That's why these laws are being passed. If ICE have requested something and you ignore it, then damn well you should get a fine or less funding. I'm sorry if you don't agree but that's just how I feel. And I think I presented my argument coherently enough for people reading it to understand what I'm trying to say

Is being an illegal immigrant against the law? Yes.
Does that mean all law enforcement are obligated to enforce it? No. Federalism means that different levels of government have different responsibilities. Some overlap, some don’t. If you want federal law to overrule all local law, might I suggest a Unitary State, where local regions have little to no say in how they are governed?

The left claims US citizens don't want these jobs so the illegals are needed to do them. The truth is that legal folks won't work these jobs because they can't make a living doing them. The illegals pay no taxes what so ever the owner of the business gets rich and any business that does not use them can't compete and are run out of business. I've seen it and know it to be true. The key is to go after the business owners that do this. Start arresting the owners and this crap would stop.
